On the first day of summer break, Alison Doyle woke up, dressed, ate breakfast, and rearranged the t-shirts in her closet by color. Then, during an argument, she turned her sister into a dragon. This last was an accident and immediately Alison felt so ashamed that she spent the next three minutes, or three months, (this will be explained later), trying to fix her mistake.
A fun, fantasy, adventure, complicated by foes and allies who betray--and foes and allies who assist--and maybe a sister who is having a little too much fun being a dragon?
My Sister is a Dragon eBook Barbara Black Fox
This book is ultimately a lovely story - meant for children - of a sister's love. Allison is a neat, popular girl. Her sister, Hope, is that weird kid that everyone didn't quite get and never seemed to quite fit in. One day, Allison accidentally changes her sister into a dragon! Hope doesn't mind quite so much, but Allison is determined to turn her back. From there, the two sisters - along with cousins and friends - go on a fun adventure through a fantasy world filled with memorable characters. I love the use of language in this book. Ms. Black Fox does not speak down to her child readers, but rather challenges them to learn new words and play with them in a new context. This book would be great for that kid who still believes in dragons (or really, really wants to). He or she will be 'mazed.

My Sister is a Dragon eBook Barbara Black Fox Reviews
I had hoped that this would be a good story for my grandchildren, but I lost interest and never finished it.
This book is a good sit down read, it kept me occupied for hours. Its an amazing book for kids. A funny, nice, and sweet story. This book has a Great Beginning, Juicy middle, and marvellous ending. I love all of Barbara's books which include My sister is a dragon, Blogging4Romance, and more.
A good story about sisters who hate each other and then find the compassion need to save each other. Along with friends they learn to stick together and concure the obsticles they face to save the sister from being a dragon to being a girl again.
A nice read for the 11 & 12 year old set. This a fantasy about two sisters and how the younger turns the older into a dragon by flushing a piece of artwork down the toilet. The adventure is an enjoyable read.

Not interesting. To much explanations and just puts you to sleep. Not even children's attention would be captured reading this book.
With all the stories out there for teens to get interested in, this story is light and yet has heart, something that very few people can manage these days.
At the center of it all is a story about family, understanding and love, and those are the kinds of things that are not promoted to young readers these days.
I can't wait for the next installment!
This is a cute book with a clever premise. The author doesn't quite have the narrative ability to make it zing and sparkle; the language is a bit stiff. But the fantasy world she creates is well-worth a visit for a light, fun read. Probably many pre-teens will enjoy the book - especially girls, although boys are featured in the plot. The cutest part about it was how the "ugly" sister actually turned into a "swan" as a dragon. The book makes a positive statement about sibling love and loyalty which is lacking in many children's books. If I were still teaching I might read this aloud to fourth or fifth graders, even though they could easily read it for themselves. It is worth sharing.
